Workshop: How to get ahead in the Music Industry

From listening to the radio to streaming from social networking sites, there are many different ways in which an audience can have access to an artist’s song. But how does an artist generate income? With a focus on licensing and copyright students find out what it takes to survive in the music industry by looking at how to protect and manipulate their creativity.

Workshop: Behind the scenes

Discover how many people are actually involved in the making of a popstar. With insider knowledge from vocal coaches, choreographers, stylists, managers, songwriters and even the fans, students discover how health, money and creativity all play equal parts in the music industry.

Workshop: Explore IT
From the gramophone to the iPod the workshop provides an introduction into how have we have historically listened to music, and explores how we will access music in the future using the exhibition as a case study. The British Music Experience's innovative use of ICT offers students a new perspective on the way technology can be used to experience music and students will be tasked to come up with the next innovation.

We have teamed up with our industry partners to give your students direct access to professionals at our Industry Insider workshops. With activities, talks and demonstrations Industry Insiders use the music industry as a backdrop to explore subjects as diverse as ICT, Business studies, Travel and tourism, Film and media, event management, Fashion, and more…
