The Art of Heavy Rock

This is the start of a new series of events looking at iconic album artwork and how each artist defines themselves visually.

For our first event, we're delighted to welcome Andie Airfix and Mark Wilkinson to discuss their work and influences.

You may not know these guys by name but you sure as hell will know their work!

Andie Airfix and Mark Wilkinson are two artists with completely unique visions and skills that have designed the visual identity for some of the biggest bands in the world.

For over 25 years Andie Airfix has been designing graphics for a wide variety of legendary recording artists including AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Def Leppard, Guns 'N' Roses, Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, The Who and many more.

Mark Wilkinson has worked for bands and performers as diverse as Judas Priest, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams. His pictures were chosen for the 'Best Of British Illustration' exhibition at the Royal College Of Art a few years ago and he has exhibited in Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Spain, Italy, Scotland and the USA.
