Revel in the soundtrack to our nation’s history at the British Music Experience. Book a school visit with us and explore over seventy years’ worth of music history. Find out how the music today has directly evolved from the music of your Grandmothers and Grandfathers generation.  Discover how music has influenced art, fashion and even the government. The British Music Experience is a unique learning resource suitable for students of all ages.

The offer: When you book with the British Music Experience your trip will include a half hour guided gallery tour facilitated by one of our Visitor Experience Crew. There are various tours aimed at the different key stages from key stage one right up to Key Stage Four. you will have designated time to explore the interactive studios as well as time to explore the galleries themselves.

We offer a number of different workshops suitable for different age groups and linking to different parts of the curriculum. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to take a look. These will be available from September 2017.

Resources and Activities

To support and enhance your schools British Music Experience trip, we are developing resources which can be utilised for pre-planning and post-visit reflection. These will be downloadable from our website.

Teachers’ Site Visits

British Music Experience understands that busy teachers need school trips to be worth the time and money invested and is now inviting teachers to come down for a free of charge walk-through, at a convenient time and date. This visit will give teachers the opportunity to go through the galleries, see the education suite and speak with a representative from the education department. To book your teachers site visit contact education@britishmusicexperience.com Site visits will be available Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm.

Coach Drop-Off Parking

We have a designated coach drop-off point right outside the front of our building, with coach parking nearby. A member of our visitor experience crew will greet you from the coach. Coach-drivers will receive a hot drink and a cake free of charge.
