Book a school visit and explore over seventy years of music history. Find out how music today has directly evolved from the music of your grandparents' generation.  Discover how music has influenced art, fashion and even the Government.

The British Music Experience is a unique learning resource, suitable for students of all ages.

What we Offer

When you book with the British Music Experience, your trip will include a half-hour guided gallery tour facilitated by one of our Learning Crew. You will also have time to explore our Gibson Interactive Studio, which offers visitors the opportunity to play professional instruments.

We offer educational workshops linked to the National Curriculum, covering Key Stages 1 to 4 (please see below).  These will be available from September 2017.

The British Music Experience is fully accessible to wheelchair users.  We also have onsite storage space for pupils' belongings.

We can provide lunch for school parties by prior arrangement or offer space for school parties to eat their own packed lunches. To make lunch arrangements, please contact our Education Officer via email: education@britishmusicexperience.com

Teacher Site Visits

School teachers can book a free walk-through of the British Music Exprience at a convenient time and date. This visit will provide the opportunity to see our galleries, Discovery Zone and meet our Learning Crew.  Site visits are available Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm.

Coach Drop-Off & Parking

There is a designated coach drop-off point right outside the front of our building, with city coach parking nearby. A member of our Visitor Experience Crew can greet you from the coach. Coach-drivers will receive a free hot drink in our Star Cafe.
