"Oh I get by with a little help from my friends" The Beatles (1967)

The British Music Experience would not exist if not for the commitment and support of our wonderful partners including...

The Co-operative group

The Co-operative, one of the UK's largest retailers and title partner of the British Music Experience, is committed to inspiring and educating young people through music across the country just like the British Music Experience.

The partnership was launched in July with a 'master-class' for two local schools with Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos, and has a number of exciting initiatives in the pipeline that will get the British Music Experience out to as many young people as possible.

The three year sponsorship promises to deliver 15,000 free tickets over the duration of the partnership through schools, social networking sites, youth media and Co-operative stores.

The new partnership is part of a pledge from The Co-operative to use £11 million to help young people on the path to success.

The Co-operative stands apart from other major retailers in the UK as a business which is owned, not by a small group of shareholders, but by more than five million consumers. With core interests in food (the UK's fifth biggest food retailer), financial services, travel, pharmacy, funerals and farms, it has an annual turnover of £14 billion, employs 123,000 staff and operates over 5,000 retail trading outlets handling more than 20 million weekly transactions. The Co-operative has been voted the UK's most ethical brand, and 98% of all its outlets are powered by renewable energy. With 260 Fairtrade grocery products, it has the widest range of Fairtrade grocery products.
