WHITE ROOMS, IMAGINARY WESTERNS & COBRAS: AN EVENING WITH PETE BROWN AND FRIENDS
White Rooms, Imaginary Westerns & Cobras:
An Evening with Pete Brown and friends
Thursday 23rd September 2010
From earning £20 a week as a performing poet, Pete then hit the big time in 1966 when he become a songwriter for super group Cream (singer Jack Bruce, guitarist Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker) and wrote the lyrics for their hits 'White Room', 'I Feel Free' and 'Sunshine of Your Love'.
We're thrilled to be hosting this special one-off event with the cult performance poet, record producer and movie screenwriter and lyricist - Pete Brown.
On the 23rd of September Pete Brown shall be hosting a special intimate Question & Answer session on his new book - White Rooms and Imaginary Westerns - as well as a much anticipated live show of new material from his forthcoming album release Road of Cobras with Phil Ryan.
In White Rooms and Imaginary Westerns, the singer, record producer and movie screenwriter and poet takes us on a fascinating odyssey through his anarchic life, from the claustrophobia of Jewish school in Hendon, to his surreal experiences as a Beat poet in the 1960s, alongside legends such as Allen Ginsberg, Spike Milligan and Robert Graves.
He tells many hilarious tales about being a touring musician and the stars he met, including guitar legends Peter Green (who founded Fleetwood Mac) and Jeff Beck.
