The BME in partnership with Liverpool International Music Festival are proud to announce an exclusive event with Trevor Nelson.
Over a long career Trevor has become known as one of the UK’s most respected DJ’s and broadcasters. On radio his career spans from his early days at Kiss FM, through to BBC Radio 1 with the brilliant and ground breaking ‘Rhythm Nation’ show, as well as BBC Radio 1Xtra and Radio 2. On the club scene he is still much in demand after early days with Soul II Soul and the legendary Lick nights.
Trevor is rightly regarded as one of the foremost authorities on British R&B and this special event will be a unique opportunity to hear Trevor talk about his life in music and significance and the legacy of this period of music. What makes the evening even more special is that we will be using this occasion to celebrate the launch of a display that highlights arguably the Golden era of British R&B, 90s-00s. Trevor generously sharing some of his amazing collection of key records, posters and other memorabilia from his life immersed in this music.
As part of the discussion Trevor will be talking about the significance of these objects and the audience will have a chance to ask a question of Trevor with a Q and A at the end of the evening.
Make sure you get a ticket for what is sure to be a fascinating event.
