British Music Experience presents Capturing Live Music Through Photography, a solo exhibition by photographer Realm of Pixels / Charlotte Wellings

Running through September 27 2020, the exhibition presents a striking series of photographs captured by Charlotte, featuring some of the world’s most iconic musicians – from high-calibre international artists Cher, KISS, Grace Jones and Lizzo to renowned UK acts Iron Maiden, The Charlatans, James Bay and many more!

A sort-after music photographer, with a keen eye for detail, vivid colour, and the desire to create striking photographs. Charlotte is carving a reputation as a top music photographer in the UK.

In the words of Gene Simmons from the legendary rock band KISS; “Charlotte has a rare eye. What can I say. She makes me look good”.

Charlotte was born in Wolverhampton, raised in Cambridge and Cheshire and now resides in Manchester. She photographs for a number of publications, festivals and music venues in and around the city.

Most notably Charlotte photographed The Charlatans for a number of years at concerts and festivals. Then went on to become Head of Photography and Marketing at British Drum Co, a popular drum-kit manufacturer, before leaving to pursue her dreams as a music photographer.

Charlotte's fascination for documenting imagery started at a young age when her Dad gave her a video camera, she later went on to study Art and Design at the Cheshire School of Art and completed a degree in Photography at UCLAN, before continuing to develop her passion.

'Taking photographs of bands is easy, taking great photographs is not easy at all, but being able to take amazing photographs that truly capture the energy and excitement of a performance requires a rare talent. Charlotte has it.’  Gary Numan

The exhibition takes place inside the museum and is included in the general entry ticket price.

A number of images in the exhibition are on sale in our Merch Store.
