The Fun Lovin' Criminal: Book Event with Huey Morgan
Saturday 13 September 2025 - 7.30pm

Join us as we welcome musician, DJ, producer and award-winning BBC broadcaster, Huey Morgan to the BME to talk about his memoir The Fun Lovin' Criminal.
When Fun Lovin’ Criminals released their smash hit debut album Come Find Yourself in 1996, its fusion of hip-hop, funk, blues and rock quickly saw it become one of the most iconic and influential records of the decade. Now, in this humorous and honest memoir, frontman Huey Morgan describes his remarkable journey from journeyman to rock star.
His is a story that begins in the early 1990s in New York, freshly returned from his time in the Marines and struggling to return to regular life. As Huey tries to kickstart his musical career, he finds himself falling into the criminal underworld to get by. But as his band begins – against all the odds – to take off, can he extricate himself before his shot at stardom goes begging?
Written in Huey’s inimitable style, The Fun Lovin’ Criminal brings the grit and glamour of 90s New York to vivid life. Huey Morgan grew up on the lower east side of NYC in the 70s and 80s, then toured the world with Fun Lovin’ Criminals. He is a musician, DJ, producer and award-winning BBC broadcaster.
The Fun Lovin’ Criminal wasn’t just the name of his platinum 90s track: it’s also who Huey is.
