Jazmine Johnson and La Lavande

Café Acoustic Session

26 October 2022 - 7.30pm

We're excited to be joined by the talented due Jazmine Johnson and La Lavande – performing both separately and together for a special acoustic evening.

Jazmine Johnson is a 23-year-old songstress from Liverpool who started singing at the tender age of 11. She first honed her skills at a summer workshop where she was able to perform regularly with a band at the Cavern Club. The fire that was ignited from this had encouraged her to start playing the guitar and has been writing ever since.  She is influenced by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Yebba and Allen Stone. She fuses rhythmical, soulful melodies with raw lyrics that display honesty and vulnerability. Last year she released her debut single, If I Ever, and has had great support from the likes of BBC Introducing, LIMF and more.  After a few years of working on her sound, she has just started to write her debut EP in where she speaks about the life lessons and the real world experiences that she has had.

Through her atmospheric and captivating performances, La Lavande draws you into a world full of complex characters and dark stories. The Liverpool-based singer is a storyteller as much a songwriter whose love of poetry, lyricists, art and film combine with delicate musicality to create a sound that’s utterly enchanting. Since winning the Judges’ Award in the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Competition in 2017, La Lavande joined the Levi’s music project in collaboration with Warner Music and Loyle Carner. She then joined the most recent cohort of the Merseyrail Soundstation programme curated by music magazine Bido Lito! and most recently the Study the WRD programe through the prestigious Ivors Academy. Her work has been heard with radio play from the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, and Mersey Radio.

This event is taking place in our Star Café Bar and is FREE, no ticket required - seats allocated on a first come first served basis.  The Star Café Bar is located off the main museum foyer.
